The representative of Manasarovar Tours & Travels will greet you at the landing destination - Tenzing Norgay Bus Stand, Bagdogra Airport (IXB) or New Jalpaiguri Railway Station (NJP) and will facilitate your further journey to Gangtok. The journey to Gangtok covers a distance of approximately 126 kilometers, a 4 - 5 hour drive. On arrival check-in to the hotel. In the evening you could cherish a leisurely walk around M. G. Road (Mall) or through the local shopping center. Overnight in Gangtok.

  • Excursion to Changu Lake and Baba Mandir (Full Day)

After the morning breakfast at the hotel, the excursion to Changu Lake and Baba Mandir begins. It is approximately 40 kilometers, a 2-hour drive along the Kyongnosla Alpine Sanctuary. It is situated at an altitude of 12310 feet or 3753 meters. This Oval shaped Lake is almost 50 feet deep and is covered with snow for the most part of the year. It is home to the Brahmini ducks and several migratory birds. The next destination is the sacred Baba Mandir - a very holy site. Nathu La Pass to the Republic of China is nearly 20 kilometers and is an optional tour. Later the guests are transported back to the hotel at Gangtok where they can enjoy their evening. Overnight in Gangtok.

The day commences with a sumptuous breakfast and proceeds with travel to Lachung in North Sikkim, situated at an altitude of 8800 feet or 2682 meters. The distance between Gangtok and Lachung is approximately 125 kilometers and takes around 6 - 7 hours to cover. The journey includes sightseeing with visits to Singhik View Point, Seven Sisters Water Falls and Naga Water Falls. There will be a halt for lunch en route to Lachung. On arrival check-in to the hotel. Overnight in Lachung.

  • Yumthang Valley Excursion and Transfer to Gangtok

Yumthang Valley also known as the Valley of Flowers is situated at an altitude of 11,800 feet or 3,597 meters and is at a distance of 24 kilometers from Lachung. The folklore says that Yumthang is the grazing ground of yaks in summers and playground of Yetis in winter. Zero Point or Yumesamdong is an optional tour, this is no motorable road beyond this point and civilians are not allowed to go further due to the proximity to the Chinese border.  The drive back from Yumthang Valley includes a visit to the Hot Spring, which is believed to have medicinal benefits. The excursion will end at the hotel for lunch. After lunch at the hotel in Lachung, leave for Gangtok. The return journey will include a visit to the Bheema and Twin Falls. The day will end with check-in at the hotel in Gangtok. Overnight in Gangtok.

The day will begin with a sumptuous breakfast. The half-day sightseeing tour will be in the form of an easy and relaxed drive. The tour will include a visit to the Ganesh Tok, Bakthang Waterfalls, Gonjang Monastery and Tashi View Point. From here you will be transported to Pelling. Pelling in West Sikkim is situated at a height of 6800 feet or 2073 meters. The distance between Gangtok and Pelling is approximately 113 kilometers, a 5 - 6 hour drive. On arrival check-in to the hotel. Evening at leisure for taking a stroll around the helipad area or catching up on some shopping at the local shopping center. Overnight in Pelling.

  • Pelling Sightseeing Tour (Full Day)

The entire route is through forested areas with natural zoological and botanical beauty. The sights include Rimbi Waterfall, Rimbi Rock Garden and Khecheopalri Lake. The lake is the considered to be one of the holiest Buddhist lakes. The legend goes that any wish, when made in front of this lake comes true. Another legend of the lake is that it is always free of leaves as any leaf that falls into the lake is picked up by a bird from the surface. The other sights are the Khecheopalri Monastery, Kanchengjunga Waterfalls, Pemayangtse Monastery and Rabdantse Ruins. The tour begins early in the morning at around 3:45 AM with a drive to an altitude of 2440 meters or 8000 feet through the exquisite forests of oak and magnolia to Tiger Hill to view the dawn over the Kangchenjunga Peak. The return trip includes a visit to Ghoom Monastery, Peace Memorial and Batasia Loop. The guests will return to the hotel for breakfast after which the next round of sightseeing will begin, covering Padmaja Naidu Zoological Park, Himalayan Mountaineering Institute (Closed on Thursday), Ropeway, Tensing Gumpo Rock, Tibetan Refugee Self Help Center (Closed on Sunday), Tea Estate, Natural History Museum (Closed on Sunday) and Peace Pagoda. Lachung means ‘small pass’, and it is a remote town and a very popular tourist destination. It is located in the North District of the state of Sikkim and is near the Indo-China border. Altitude of Lachung is about 9,600 feet above the mean sea level. Lachen and Lachung Rivers, which are the tributaries of Teesta River converge near the town. Lachung has been aptly bestowed with the title of “the most picturesque village of Sikkim" by the British explorer Joseph Dalton Hooker in his book, The Himalayan Journal in 1855. The place is an ideal destination for nature lovers and even for adventure tourism. The beauty of the place cannot be adequately described in words. It is a perfect overnight halting-place for a visit to Yumthang (Valley of Flowers).


Lachung was a trading post between Tibet and Sikkim before 1950. The trading post was closed down in 1950 after the annexation of Tibet by China. The place has an Indian army post. Tourism is the main economic activity of the area and it draws tourists from all over the world.

How to Reach?

Lachung is well connected by road from Gangtok, the capital of Sikkim. Lachung is 110 km away from Gangtok and the road to Lachung passes through an exquisite scenic landscape. The nearest airport to Lachung is Bagdogra (IXB) which is located at a distance of 195 km. New Jalpaiguri (NJP) is the nearest railway station which is situated at a distance of 192 km from Lachung.

Best time to Visit

Lachung has only two seasons - summer and winter. Summer lasts from April to October and the maximum temperature during this time is 15 degrees C. The winters are very severe here with minimum temperature dipping up to (minus) -17 degrees C. Hence, the best time to visit Lachung is October to June.

Clothes to be carried

Heavy woolen clothes must be carried for a visit to Lachung in winters as well as in summers.

Places to visit

Lachung is a postcard-pretty tiny hill town. The place has a number of tourist attractions in and around the area. Some of the places of interest include:

Lachung Gompa The Gompa is located on a hill near Lachung and can be reached on foot in about an hour. It is one of the most beautiful and appealing Gompa (Buddhist Temple) in Sikkim.

Yumthang (Valley of Flowers) It is a natural reserve sanctuary and a grazing pasture located about 25 km from Lachung. It is also known as the Valley of Flowers. The valley is surrounded by snow-covered peaks at all times of the year. It is located at an elevation of 11,693 feet. Shingba Rhododendron Sanctuary is located in Yumthang valley.

Shingba Rhododendron Sanctuary The Shingba Rhododendron Sanctuary is located in Yumthang valley in North Sikkim. It has about 40 varieties of Rhododendrons. The variety of flowers is kaleidoscopic The total area of the sanctuary is around 43 square km. The rhododendrons that bloom from April to July enhances the natural beauty of the landscape to an astonishing extent.

Local Population or demography Tibetan speaking Lepchas and the Bhutias are the main inhabitants of the place.


Lachung also offers trekking and skiing facilities to adventure tourists. The tourists can also enjoy hiking, fishing, rafting and mountain biking here. Tourists can buy rugs, blankets, and some other handicraft items. Apples, peaches and apricots are also grown in Lachung.


Pelling is located in West Sikkim District of the state of Sikkim. It is located at an altitude of 7,200 feet. The town offers an enchanting view of Kangchenjunga, the third highest peak in the world. It is the closest one can get to the mighty Kangchenjunga from a cozy hotel room. This hill station is emerging as the second most popular tourist destination in Sikkim, after Gangtok.


About two centuries ago, Terton Pema Lingpa, a Buddhist monk built a Buddhist monastery at the foothills of Kangchenjunga. The monastery was known as Pemachoeling Gompa. The Gompa turned to ruins after a while due to lack of care and maintenance. The town of Pelling (an abbreviated form of Pemachoeling) is named after the Gompa. Two other Buddhist monasteries of Pemayangtse and Sangacholing are also located near Pelling. 

 How to Reach?

The town is located at a distance of 10 km from the district headquarters of Geyzing. A regular bus service connects the two towns. Pelling is 115 km away from Gangtok, the capital of Sikkim. The nearest airport to Pelling is Bagdogra (IXB) which is located at a distance of 135 km. Pelling has a helipad where helicopters fly in from Gangtok, but the helicopter services are not regular. New Jalpaiguri (NJP) is the nearest railway station, which is 130 km from Pelling.

Best time to Visit

Pelling is a tourist destination for almost all seasons. The best time to visit Pelling is October to mid-June. The roads in the area deteriorate during monsoons which lasts from July to September. The weather in the area is generally quite unpredictable and it can change from warm and sunny to damp and cloudy within a very short period of time.

Clothes to be carried

The maximum temperature in summers rise up to 25 degrees C and the minimum temperature falls to the freezing point during the winters. The place is warm and pleasant in summers and cold in winters. It is advisable to carry light woolen clothing in summers and heavy woolens during winters.

Places to visit

Pelling town itself has only a few houses, hotels and eating places constructed on both sides of the road. The place is considered a paradise because of the scenic beauty of the area around Pelling and the magnificent view of the mighty Himalayas. Some of the places of tourist interest in and around Pelling are as follows:-

Pemayangtse Monastery Pemayangtse (the perfect sublime lotus) is a monastery of Nyingma-pa sect and was built in 1705. It is a three-story building and houses a great collection of paintings and sculptures.

Sangachoeling Monastery Sangachoeling Monastery was built in 1697 and is the oldest monastery in Sikkim. It is located a little above Pelling.

Khecheopalri Lake It is a sacred lake with religious significance. The lake is very scenic and surrounded by thick forest from all sides.

Rabdanse Ruins Rabdentse was the second capital of the former kingdom of Sikkim from 1670 to 1814. The Gorkha Army destroyed the capital city. Only ruins and foundations of the city remain.

Sewaro Rock Garden The state tourism department has developed a rock garden near the Karchen hydro electricity powerhouse. It has now become a very popular picnic spot for tourists.

Local Population or demography The permanent settlers are the Bhutias, Nepalese and Lepchas. Most of the people of Pelling are Buddhists and speak Sikkimese. English, Hindi and Nepali are also spoken in the town.


Pelling is fast emerging as a very popular tourist destination because of the wide variety of tourist activities like mountain biking, rock climbing, village tours, meditation, bird watching, nature walk, and cultural tours that are on offer here. It is also a great place to undertake mountain treks in the Himalayas.


Darjeeling, also known as the “Queen of the Hills” is a municipal town and headquarters of Darjeeling district of the state of West Bengal. It is located at the height of 6710 feet in the Lesser Himalayan Ranges. Darjeeling is a beautiful Hill Station which still retains the old world charm and provides an enchanting view of the snow clad mighty Kangchenjunga Peak. The place has numerous tea gardens in the area which make the look of the place picture perfect.


The British had established a cantonment and a sanatorium at this majestic hill station in the mid-19th century.

How to reach?

Darjeeling is well connected by road. The nearest airport to Darjeeling is Bagdogra (IXB) which is located at a distance of 90 km. New Jalpaiguri (NJP) is the nearest Railway Station on the broad gauge and is located 88 km from Darjeeling. Darjeeling can be reached by a narrow gauge railway line (Darjeeling Himalayan Railway) or toy train from NJP. Siliguri is the nearest town on the National Highway 55, and it is 77 km away from Darjeeling. Gangtok, the capital of the state of Sikkim, is a 4-hour drive from Darjeeling. Thus a trip to Darjeeling can be combined with a visit to the picturesque Gangtok.

Best time to Visit

Darjeeling has Temperate Climate, and the place is lashed with heavy rains during the monsoons. The place gets rains for about 120 days in a year. The best time to visit Darjeeling is March to mid-June and October to December. Some tourists who enjoy the rains, visit the place during the rainy season also to roam around amongst the clouds and mist which make the place magical.

Chowrasta (Darjeeling Mall) In the center of the town, located on top of Nehru Road is a flat land that offers breathtaking views. The place is lined with pine trees on one side and boutique shops on the other. It is a beautiful lounging place in the town for visitors and locals alike.

Himalayan Mountaineering Institute (HMI) It is a one of a kind mountaineering institute housing a museum and also artifact shops. It is a must visit place for all mountain climbers and persons interested in the sport.

Local Population or demography Nepali-speaking Gorkhas are the main inhabitants of Darjeeling. Other demographic denominations include Marwaris, Anglo-Indians, Chinese, Biharis, Tibetans and Bengalis. People of the area speak English, Hindi, Nepalese and Bengali.


Darjeeling is famous for Tea, Teak, Tourism, Toy Train, Tiger Hill and is considered a Trekkers’ Paradise.


Gangtok, a very charismatic and charming hill station, is the capital city of Sikkim. It is located on top of a mountain ridge at the height of 5500 feet. It is an important Buddhist center of learning and is located along the offshoot of the old silk route. It is an important trading point between India and China along the Nathu La pass route.


Gangtok was a small hamlet and very little is known about its history. Enchey Monastery was constructed at Gangtok in 1840. It became a major pilgrimage center for Buddhists after the construction of the monastery. The capital of Sikkim was shifted to Gangtok in 1894. Sikkim with its capital at Gangtok became a state within the Indian Union in 1975.

How to Reach?

Gangtok can be reached by road as the road network is pretty decent. It is located on National Highway 10. The nearest airport to Gangtok is Bagdogra (IXB) which is located at a distance of 130 km. Gangtok to Bagdogra route is linked through daily helicopter services also. New Jalpaiguri (NJP) is the nearest Railway Station on the broad gauge and is located 124 km away.

Best time to Visit

Gangtok is surrounded by high mountains from all sides. It enjoys a very pleasant weather (mild, temperate) throughout the year because of its altitude and protection from all directions. The place gets torrential rains during the monsoon season. The winters are severe with temperatures dipping up to 4 degrees C, at times even lower. Snowfall in the area is a very rare occurrence. The best time to visit Gangtok is February to mid-June and October to December.

Places to visit

MG Marg

MG Marg is the main street of this hill station and is a great place to roam around. It is lined with shops on both sides and has enough sitting place for the tourists.

Cable Ropeway 

The cable ropeway ride which is one km long provides a bird-eye view of the city and the surrounding areas.

Namgyal Research Institute of Tibetology 

It is an old Buddhist monastery established in 1958. It houses some rare handwritten Sanskrit, Tibetan and Lepcha texts. It also has a very rich collection of statues and Tankhas.

Rumtek Monastery 

It is the largest and most sacred monastery in Sikkim and is a showpiece of Tibetan architecture. It is located 24 km away from Gangtok.

Himalayan Zoological Park

The zoo showcases the wildlife of the Himalayas in their natural habitat. Himalayan Deer, Barking Deer, Tibetan Wolf, Red Pandas and Spotted Deer are the main attractions of the zoo.

Jawaharlal Nehru Botanical Garden

The garden is located near the Rumtek Monastery, and its attractions include a wide variety of orchids, oaks and other trees of this Himalayan region.

Local Population or demography 

Gangtok is a cosmopolitan town with a population of around 100,000. Nepalis, Lepchas, and Bhutias are the primary residents of this place. Some Marwaris, Biharis, and Bengalis also live in the area. People of the area mainly speak Nepali. English and Hindi are the official languages of this place and are also widely spoken.


Gangtok is very clean, crime free and picturesque and it lies in the lap of the Lesser Himalayas. It is a must-visit destination for all tourists interested in nature’s splendor and serenity of the Himalayas.

Terms & Conditions




(i) Client means person(s) in whose name or on whose behalf the booking has been made.

(ii) MTT means Manasarovar Tours & Travels.

(iii) Independent Contractors means hotelier/hotel owner, owner of any airlines or shipping company or railway ferryboat owner/operation, coach owner/operation, or any other person or organization who has been selected to render services to the Client.

(iv) Domestic tour/Tour arrangement means a tour operated by MTT which is operated by MTT within India and includes but not limited to packages, sightseeing, day tours etc.

(v) Tour Cost means the cost of all the services availed by the client for his domestic tour.


Booking Policy

All reservations require a minimum deposit of 40% of your total tour price up to 30 days in advance.

The balance is due 14 days before commencement of the tour.

If any balance is not fully paid by the date specified, MTT may cancel the tour without any refund whatsoever.

Prices shall be final and subject to no change once payment in full has been received.

Refund Policy

Refunds if any for amendments and/or cancellation will be paid directly to the client for booking made directly with MTT.

Refund will be processed within 30 working days from the date of cancellation. No interest charges shall be payable on the amount.

MTT shall not be liable where the delay in refund is due to reasons beyond MTT’s reasonable control.

There is no refund payable for any unutilized services (e.g. Meals, Entrance Fees, Optional Tour, Hotel, Sightseeing etc).


Insurance Policy

The tour cost does not include insurance charges. Hence, it is advisable that the clients get insurance cover at their own costs.



MTT reserves the right to change hotel bookings should there be no accommodation available. In such a case, an alternative similar hotel will be provided. Should there not be similar hotels available, accommodation at higher or lower category hotels shall be provided. Should there be any cost difference, the price shall be adjusted accordingly.

The rooms shall be allotted as per the check-in time of the hotels and they shall have to be vacated as per the hotels check-out time.

At check-in, you must present a valid photo id with the same name. Failure to do so may result in your reservation not being honored.

All rooms are guaranteed on the day of arrival. In the case of a no-show, your room(s) will be released and you will be subject to the terms and conditions of the Cancellation/No-Show Policy.

All special requests are subject to availability upon arrival.





In case the client is carrying any valuable personal effects, it is advisable not to leave them behind at the time of disembarking/leaving the coach. MTT will not be held responsible or liable in case of loss of such items from the coach. All baggage and personal effects are at all times and in all circumstances the responsibility of the client.


Any damage caused to the vehicle during travel because of the actions of the client (willful/negligent), shall be payable by the client and MTT would in no manner whatsoever be liable for the same.


The drivers of the vehicles are bound by specific rules like maximum driving hours within a day/during a week, rest period per day/week etc. Clients will have to strictly adhere to the prescribed timetable for the day so that the driver can complete the travel. In the event, any of the sightseeing schedules are missed due to delays caused by the client, the same will not be refunded to the client under any circumstances.


Child Policy

·         Children Above 10 years will be charged 100% as per Adult Rate (EPSR)

·         Children aged between 5 and 10 years and sharing parents’ room will be charged as per CWB or CNB

·         Children below 5 years will not be charged

MTT shall, in no circumstances whatsoever be liable to the client or any person traveling with him for:


Any death, personal injury, sickness, accident, loss, delay, discomfort, increased expenses, consequential loss and/or damage or any kind of theft howsoever caused.

Any act, omission, default of any independent Contractor or other person or by any servant or agent employed by them who may be engaged or concerned in the provision of accommodation, refreshment, carriage facility or service for the client or for any person traveling with him howsoever caused.


The temporary or permanent loss of or damage to baggage or personal effects howsoever caused including willful negligence on the part of any person.


Loss of baggage by the airlines/coach/train.


Overbooking of seats by the airline.


Failure on the part of airline to accommodate passengers despite having confirmed tickets or change of route.


If in the event that the Client is booked on a particular airline and the said flight is overbooked/cancelled for whatever reason and the Client is not allowed/able to board the flight, the Client shall not hold MTT responsible for the same and no claim whatsoever can be made by the Client against MTT for refund or compensation.


MTT shall not be responsible and/or liable for any damages caused to the Client due to reasons beyond the control of MTT (Force Majeure/Vis Majeure).


In the event the tour is shortened or extended due to force majeure or unforeseeable circumstances beyond MTT’ control, any related expenses shall be the exclusive responsibility of the client.

While enjoying the services provided by MTT, if any client’s acts or omission results in damage or loss to MTT’s vendor or service provider which includes but is not limited to (airlines, hotels, transports etc. and vendors’ staff), the client shall be liable and agrees to indemnify and hold harmless MTT its partners, officers or such vendor from and against such claims.



MTT takes all reasonable steps at the time of finalizing the itinerary for the client to ensure that the itinerary is as per the convenience and comfort of the client. However, in the event of a change in the itinerary, MTT would inform the client accordingly before the departure of the client on the domestic tour. Information shall be provided at the contact details provided by the Client at the time of booking. MTT takes no responsibility for any claims arising out of non-receipt of information if such contact no. is not reachable or email provided is not accessible or does not belong to the Client.


Further, in the event of a change, which is beyond the control of MTT, in the itinerary of the client post departure to domestic tour, MTT shall inform the client accordingly as and when such a change occurs. MTT shall not be held responsible in any manner whatsoever for any loss that a client might suffer due to such a change.

MTT reserves the right to claim any additional expenses because of delays/changes in the itinerary, caused due to reasons beyond MTT’s control.

For the convenience of clients, MTT reserves the right to amend the itinerary. However, all the other services will remain the same.


In the event the client misses out on any activity on the domestic tour due to delay on his/her part, MTT would not be held liable to refund the money paid for the same or in any other manner whatsoever.


MTT does not promise any change in the itinerary at the request of client and same shall be subject to availability. For any change/alteration in the itinerary made at the request of client, client agrees to pay additional cost incurred due to such change.


Law & Jurisdiction

For all complaints, suits, claims or disputes of whatsoever nature relating to any products including Tours by MTT and third-party products and tours, the courts, and tribunals in Kolkata, India alone shall have exclusive jurisdiction.
